We love a challenge. That’s why when Foster’s Chapel Hill owners Sera Cuni and Susan White came to us in late 2013 with an opportunity to rebrand a local institution we jumped at the chance. Our goal was to emphasize their incredible scratch-made food and growing catering business without alienating their very loyal customer base. This was a complete facelift to their visual identity without a major change to the concept. Over the next nine months we renamed, branded, developed a new look to the cafe (menu boards, brand signage, wayfinding/department signage), built a new website and led a PR and marketing effort to announce The Root Cellar. We feel the photos speak volumes and more importantly make the cafe feel like it’s been that way for years.
We’ve been on retainer with The Root Cellar ever since, managing ongoing marketing and design needs and helping Sera and Susan further build a legacy of their own. In December 2017 we helped them open a second location in Pittsboro and have enjoyed designing materials for their annual Porkapalooza and other special dinners!
